The Will of John Hely of Carlton, Gentleman, written 23 Mar 1887, proved .

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Hely of Dickens Street Carlton Gentleman.
I direct that as soon as conveniently may be after my decease my household furniture and effects shall be sold and converted into money to pay my just debts and funerary and testamentary expenses.
I bequeath to my son William Henry Hely of Dunedin New Zealand my silver watch and gold chain with masonic seal and other appendages thereto.
I bequeath to my son Albert Hely of Melbourne Opera House Employee all other jewellery I may be possessed of at the time of my decease.
I bequeath to my son Frank Hely of Elgin Street Carlton all my interest in and to the stock and secret of the "perfect cure".
I direct that until my son Albert Hely shall attain the age of twenty one years or shall die before attaining that age the income from my estate shall be used for the purpose of paying off any mortgage or sums of money which may be owing upon any portion of my said real estate And that when my said son Albert shall attain the age of twenty one years or shall die before attaining that age I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my estate in equal shares to my son John Hely of the Club House Hotel Wagga Wagga my son William Henry Hely of Dunedin New Zealand my son Edwin Ernest Hely of Dunedin Commercial Traveller and my said son Albert Hely or the survivors or survivor of them.
I appoint John Gardiner and Richard Gardiner both of Rygon Street Carlton executors of this my will I revoke all former wills In witness whereof I the said John Hely the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this twenty third day of March one thousand eight hundred and eighty seven.
