At the time of the 1881 England Census Charles Squibb, age 35, born in Lambeth Surrey, and wife Sabina Squibb, age 34, born in Birmingham, candle maker, were living at 20 Ward Street, Lambeth. KENNINGTON TRAGEDY.—On Saturday the remains of Charles Squibb, aged 57, a candle-maker, of 63, Princes road, Kennington, were removed to the Lambeth mortuary. On Thursday morning he was found lying with a deep gash across his throat, and a sharp instrument by his right hand side covered with blood. P.S. 3 L was called in, and the deceased was taken to St. Thomas's Hospital, where he gradually sank and died.
