At the time of the 1911 England Census Margaret Elizabeth Roods, age 52, born in South Malling, single, was with her brother Alfred Roods in Wychehurst, Hankham, Sussex.

In Jul 1931 Margaret Elizabeth Roods, spinster, was granted Administration of the personal effects of her late sister Florence Annie Roods of Wychehurst, Hankham, Westham, spinster.

In the 1939 Register Margaret E Roods (b. 3 Jan 1859), unpaid domestic duties, was with [her brother] Alfred Roods (b. 6 Feb 1857), retired quantity surveyor, in Wychehurst Hankham Street, Hankham, Sussex.

Died at Age of 95

The funeral took place at Westham of Miss Margaret Elizabeth Roods, who died recently at the age of 95.

Miss Roods was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs W. E. Roods, who farmed at Upper Stoneham, Lewes. Miss Roods had lived at Hankham for the greater part of her life. She was an original member of Hankham and Westham Women's Institute and was also a keen church worker. She was a Sunday School teacher for about 40 years.

The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. H. Coulthurst (vicar) and the chief mourners were Mr and Mrs F. Covell (nephew and niece), Miss M. Downs and Mrs. H. H. Robinson (nieces), Mrs. Walter Downs and Mrs. J. Bullock.

Many friends also attended at the church.
