STROKE

The sad news has been received of the deaths of the two brothers from heat stroke, one in India and the other in Mesopotamia.
Mrs. Stevens, 6, Robertson-terrace, has received intimation that her husband, Gunner Herbert Stevens, F.S.A., died on July 23rd at Ferozepore, India. For 12 or 13 years he acted as organist at St. Saviour's Church, St. Leonards. By trade he was a printer, and formerly worked at the "Observer" Office, but for over 10 years he acted as manager of the printing business of Miss Clark, George-street Hastings. He and his brother joined up at Hastings 12 months ago last May, both going to India together, but later one was transferred to Mesopotamia. Gunner Herbert Stevens died a day before his brother in Mesopotamia, and leaves a widow and two little girls, the other leaving a widow and one small girl, with whom the greatest sympathy will be felt.
