At the time of the 1881 England Census Emily Hobbs, aged 33, born in Warbleton Sussex, and husband Frederic Hobbs, aged 32, born in Ewhurst Sussex, millwright, were living at The Stream, Catsfield Sussex. Present were children (born in Catsfield) Kate A (7), scholar, Herbert (4) and Ernest J (1).
At the time of the 1891 England Census Emily Hobbs, aged 43, born in Warbleton Sussex, and husband Frederick Hobbs, aged 42, born in Ewhurst Sussex, millwright & machine maker, were living at The Stream, Catsfield Sussex. Present were children (born in Catsfield) Kate (17), Ernest (11), scholar, Hilda (2), and Emily's father John Upfield (73) of Warbleton, widower, retired millwright.
At the time of the 1901 England Census Emily Hobbs, aged 53, born in Warbleton Sussex, and husband Frederick Hobbs, aged 52, born in Ewhurst Sussex, mechanical engineer, were living at The Stream, Catsfield Sussex. Present were children (born in Catsfield) Kate A (27), Ernest J (21), mechanical engineer, and Hilda E (12).
At the time of the 1911 England Census Emily Hobbs, aged 63, born in Warbleton Sussex (mother of 4 children, 1 deceased), and husband of 37 years Frederick Hobbs, aged 52, born in Ewhurst Sussex, mechanical engineer & millwright, were living in Catsfield Sussex. Present were children (born in Catsfield and single) Ernest John (21), mechanical engineer & millwright, and Hilda Emily (22).

CATSFIELD.
DEATH OF MRS. HOBBS.—The death occurred on Wednesday morning of Mrs. Hobbs, the wife of Mr. Frederick Hobbs, senior partner in Messrs. Upfield and Sons, motor engineers, of Catsfield Stream. The deceased had been suffering from bronchitis, and her general health was not good. She was aged about 73. The family is a very well known one in Catsfield and the neighbourhood, and has resided in the village for many years. A son of the late Mrs. Hobbs is one of the churchwardens at the parish church of St. Lawrence. The funeral will take place at Catsfield on Monday.

THE LATE MRS. HOBBS.
FUNERAL AT CATSFIELD.
The funeral of Mrs. Emily Hobbs, the wife of Mr. Frederick Hobbs, of Catsfield Stream, whose death was recorded in our last issue, took place on Monday afternoon amid many signs of esteem and regret. The first part of the service was held in the Parish Church, and the interment took place in the Cemetery. The Rector (the Rev. E. L. Ridge) officiated.
The late Mrs. Hobbs, who had reached the age of 73, was extremely well-known in Catsfield, of which village she was a native* and life-long resident, and among the very large and representative congregation, both in the church and at the graveside, were mourners from practically every household in the place.
Mr. F. Hobbs (the widower) was prevented from attending through illness, and also Mr. F. Portnell (son-in-law). The immediate mourners were: Mr. E. J. Hobbs, Mrs. Portnell, Miss Hobbs (son and daughters); Mr[s]. E. J. Hobbs (daughter-in-law); Miss Portnell (granddaughter); Mr. and Mrs. A.
