"The death occurred suddenly early yesterday morning of Mr. James George Lowe, at his residence, 199 Rankin St. He collapsed in the street outside his home. He was found by two men named Campbell and Hutchinson, who assisted him home. He died of a stroke before the doctor's arrival. The late Mr. Lowe, who was 53 years of age, was born at Perthville, and had been a resident of the Bathurst district practically all his life. He was well-known and popular amongst the local sporting fraternity. An ironmonger by trade, he was employed at one time by E. Webb and Co Later he worked at the Bathurst Munitions Factory, and was working at the Racecourse up till his death. He was a prominent member of Lodge 186, I.O.O.F. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Ron and Max, both of Bathurst. His parents predeceased him a few years ago. Mrs. Herb Pratley, of Yarras, is a sister. Lodge members will attend his funerl at 3.30 today, which will move from All Saints' Cathedral, interment to be made in the Church of England portion of Bathurst cemetery...." 4
