  Marriage Notes:

"On Saturday, July 7, the marriage of Mr. Robert Wilkinson, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wilkinson (Paddington), to Miss Vera Smiles, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Smiles, Lutwyche, took place at All Saints' Church, Wickham-terrace. The Rev. Famham Maynard officiated at the ceremony, and Mr. Ayscough presided at the organ. The service was choral, the choir singing "The voice that breathed o'er Eden" as the bride entered the church, and Mr. Leslie Morris rendered "Because" during the signing ot the register. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory silk morocain embroidered with crystal beads, the floating sleeves of georgette being similarly adorned. The train of ivory georgette was mounted over pale pink satin and was caught, on the shoulders with pearl cabochons. A veil of embroidered tulle arranged in cap fashion was held by a cluster of orange blossoms and pearls, and she carried a bouquet of roses and Eucharis lilies. The three bridesmaids, the Misses L. Mutch (chief), Coral Woods, and A. Smiles (sister of the bride), all wore dainty frocks of satin veiled in beaded georgette in shades of mauve, pale blue and pink respectively. Their picturesque bonnet-shaped hats were of black pleated tulle finished with tulle streamers, and their bouquets were of sweet peas to match their frocks. Mr. Clive Smiles (brother of the bride) acted as best man, and Mr. C. Silvage groomsman. After the ceremony the parents of the bride entertained the guests at Finney's Roof Garden Cafe, the tables being decorated with roses and sweet peas. A jazz orchestra rendered music during the evening." 3
