At the time of the 1861 England Census Maria Bendell, aged 21, born in Portsea Hants, laundress, was with her widowed mother at 4 Seymour St., Portsea Hants.
At the time of the 1871 England Census Maria Watson, aged 31, born in Portsmouth Hants, married, laundress, was at 3 Seymour St Portsea. With her were daughters (born in Portsmouth): Eliza (5), scholar, and Caroline (3), scholar. Nextdoor at 4 Seymour St was Maria's widowed mother Caroline Bendell.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Maria A. Watson, aged 41, born in Portsmouth Hants, and husband Thomas Watson, aged 45, born in Warwick Warwickshire, general labourer, were living at 5 Seymour St., Portsea. Present were children (born in Portsmouth): Eliza F (15), staymaker, Caroline A (13), staymaker, and Thomas B (1). Maria's sister Eliza Bayley and her family were living nextdoor.
At the time of the 1911 England Census Maria A. Watson, aged 72, born in Portsmouth Hants, widow (mother of 4 children, 1 deceased), was with her daughter Caroline A Geer and her husband Charles J Geer, naval pensioner, in Pargate, Sarisbury Hampshire.
