In 1881 Henry Ferris (31) of Bristol, married, general laborer, and daughter Rosina Ferris (7) of Bristol, scholar, were with Henry's parents at 4 Limekiln Dock Passage, St. Augustine, Bristol, Gloucestershire. .

In 1891 Henry J Ferris (41) of Bristol, labourer, and wife Rachael (45) of Chippenham Wilts were living at 4 Ship Lane, St. Augustine Bristol Gloucestershire. With them were daughter Ada (15) of Malmesbury Wilts and mother Martha Jane Ferris (71), widow, living on her own means.

In 1901 Henry Ferris (50) of Clifton Glostershire, dock labourer, married, was living in Ship Lane, St. Augustine, Bristol. With him was daughter Ada (25), general servant (domestic).

In 1911 Henry John Ferris (64) of Bristol Gloucestershire, widowed, general labourer, was lodging at 76 Milk St., Bristol.
