In 1881 Charlotte Staples, aged 28, born in Worton and husband George Staples, aged 24, born in Nurstead, labourer, were living in Ewart Croft, Potterne. Present was brother Jabez Hale (16) of Worton.

In 1884 Charlotte Jane Staples and her husband George Staples were witnesses at the marriage of Charlotte's brother Jabez Hale to Martha Nash Herring.

In 1891 Charlotte Staples, aged 31, born in Worton and husband George Staples, aged 36, born in Nursteed, rivet labourer boiler (GWR), were living at 14 Bright St., Swindon. With them were children (born in Potterne): Ethel (9), Adelaide (6), Arthur (3) of Worton and George (1) of Swindon, nephew Henry Hale (17) of Resea Wales.

In 1901 Charlotte J Staples, aged 41, born in Devizes and husband George Staples, aged 45, born in Devizes, general labourer (GWR), were living in St. Phillips Rd, Stratton St. Margaret. Present were children: Henry A (13), office boy (coal merchant), George (11), Elizabeth (9), Mary A (8), Ernest W (6), Evelyn G (4), Jabez H (2).

In 1911 Charlotte Staples, aged 53, mother of 10 children, and husband of 33 years George Staples, aged 56, riveter, were liviing in Upper Stratton, Stratton St. Margaret. At home were children (single): Ethel (29), domestic servant, Arthur (23), forgeman's assistant, Mary (18), domestic servant, Earnest (16), mat maker, Evelyn (14), school.

In 1939 Charlotte J Staples (b. 12 Dec 1858), widowed, unpaid domestic duties, was living at 34 St Philip's Road, Stratton St Margaret.
