In 1851 Abraham Hinder (27) of Cleff Pyper, ag laborer, and wife Mary A. (35) of Broadblunden were living in Potterne Wilts.

In 1871 Abraham Hinder (48) of Broadtown, labourer, and wife Mary (55) of Broad . . . . . . . , were living in Village, Poulshot, Wilts. With them were [Abraham's father] Robert Hinder (77) of Bourton, widower, and nephew Israel Hall* (21) of Worton. * This was Ezra Hale, son of Abraham's sister Bethia.

In 1878 Abraham Hinder was a witness at the marriage of his niece Sarah Hinder to Eneas Burbidge of Worton.

In 1881 Abraham Hinder (58) of Broad Town, Cliffe Pypard, farmer of 8 acres, and wife Mary A. (65) of Broadblunsdone were living in Town End, Poulshot.

In 1891 Abraham Hinder (68) of Broadtown, Cleeve Piper, farmer, and wife Mary A. (75) of Broad Blunsdon were living in Townsend Cottage, Poulshot. With them were farm servant Stephen Burbidge (16) of Potterne, and nephew Herbert G. Brooks of Potterne.
