In 1891 Alfred Hitchcock (28) of Liddiard Tregooze, accountant & land surveyor, and wife Ellen (28) of Trowbridge were living in Bolingbroke Arms, Lydiard Tregoz. With them were children (born in Liddiard Tregooze): Alfred James (5), Lilian K. (3), Mary (5 mo). Alfred's widowed mother was also at the Bolingbroke Arms.

In 1901 Alfred Hitchcock (38) of Lydiard Tregoz, school attendance officer, and wife Ellen (38) of Trowbridge were living in Great Field Lydiard Millicent. With them were children (born in Lydiard Tregoze): Alfred J. (15), Lilian K. (13), Millicent C. (7), Ivy M. (6 months).

In 1911 Alfred John Hitchcock (48) of Lydiard Tregoz, inspector of nuisances, and wife of 26 years Ellen (48) of Trowbridge (mother of 7 children 1 deceased) were living in Great Field Lydiard Millicent. At home were children (single): Alfred James (25), staff clerk in G.W.R. Railway Works, Clare (17), school teacher, Ivy (10), at school, Harold (7), at school, Nora (4).

In 1913 Alfred John Hitchcock was a witness at the marriage of his daughter Lilian Kate Hitchcock to Philip Kenneth Reeves of Wootton Bassett.
