In 1731 Thomas was bequeathed 5 shillings in the Will of his paternal grandfather John Maskelyne of Wotton Bassett.

In 1767 Thomas Maskelyne was a witness to the Will of his brother John Maskelyne of Harris Crofts in Wootton Bassett, yeoman.

In 1777 Thomas Maskelyne senior* was a witness to the Will of William Maskelyne of Harris Crofts in the Parish of Wootton Bassett, yeoman (William was one of his brother John's sons).

* The epithet 'senior' was undoubtedly included to distinguish this Thomas Maskelyne from his brother John's son of the same name.
