In 1851 Samuel Broad, aged 23, born in Collingbourne Kingston, married, was working as a farm labourer for Richard & Elizabeth Harrison on Crawlboys Farm, Collingbourne Ducis.
In 1861 Samuel Broad, aged 34, born in Collingbourne, ag lab, and wife Jane, aged 33, born in Collingbourne, were living in Chute. Present were children: Harriett J. (11) of Collingbourne, scholar, George (9) of Chute, ag lab, Sarah (7) of Chute, scholar, William (3) of Chute, Mary A. (8 mo) of Chute.
In December 1866 Samuel Broad was present at the marriage of his sister Mary Ann Broad to Charles Collins in Collingbourne Kingston.
In November 1868 Samuel Broad was present at the marriage of his sister Jane Broad to Henry Annetts in Collingbourne Kingston.
In 1871 Samuel Broad, aged 44, born in Collingbourne Wilts, carter, and wife Jane, aged 43, born in Collingbourne, were living in Little Down, Avington Hampshire. Present were children (born in Chute, Wilts): William (13), carter, Mary A. (10), Emily S. (8), and Elizabeth J (2) of Andover Hants.
In 1876 daughter Mary Ann Broad died aged 15 years.
In 1881 Samuel Broad, aged 50 [sic], born in Collingbourne Wilts., ag lab, and wife Jane, aged 49, born in Collingbourne Wilts, were living in Hamlet of Little Ann, Abbotts Ann, Hampshire. Present were children: Emily S. (17) of Chute Wilts, gen serv., Jane (12) of Charleton Hants, scholar, Samuel (8) of Wherwell Hants., scholar.
In June 1882 Samuel Broad was present at the marriage of his daughter Emily Susan Broad to William Taylor in Barton Stacey Hants.
In 1901 Samuel Broad, aged 75, born in Collingbourne Wilts, widower, general laborer, was with his son William and his family at 21 Colebrook Place, St. Peter Colebrook, Hampshire.
