The manor of Woolley or Fynes was formed of lands held of the Windsor fee, of the abbey of Chertsey and of other lords. It was held at the beginning of the 13th century by the family of Forester, who held a bailiwick in the forest of Windsor. Reginald le Forester is returned as holder of a quarter of a knight's fee under William de Windsor in the Testa de Nevill, and he died seised of 3 hides in Waltham held of various lords as above in 1263. He left a son and heir Jordan... 1

Order to Reginald son of Jordan, forester , to place in respite the demand that he makes from the prior of Hurley , who is on business in parts overseas, for chickens and all other things pertaining to the king’s forest for which the prior says he ought to have quittance by the charter that the king granted to the abbot of Westminster , and by consequence to the same prior, until the prior has returned into England from overseas parts.

Watham Abbatis Certes'. 3 carucates land held of Sir William de Wyndl', of the abbot of Certese, of the prior of Hurle, of Richard de Hurle, [and] of Walter . . . . wyne, services unspecified.
The office of forester held of the king by 10s. yearly.
