MR. V. T. CHYNOWETH, BARROW
The funeral took place on Wednesday of Mr. Vivian Thomas Chynoweth (69) of 183 Park Avenue, Barrow. He was a retired postman, and died at North Lonsdale Hospital on Friday. Mr. Chynoweth served in the Royal Navy for 22 years and had six years of war service. He was then employed by the GPO in the capacity as a postman for 21 years. A service was held at the Central Methodist Church....
Mourners were Mrs. M. M. Chynoweth, wife; Mr. and Mrs. A. Rabecki, Mr. and Mrs. C. Roach, sons-in-law and daughters; Mr. and Mrs. D. Eason, Miss S. Gilbert, Miss L. Gilbert, grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. J. Elliott, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Mr. and Mrs. T. Hicks, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Miss M. Lavet, Mr. J. Elliott, Mrs. E. Penny, Mr. B. Penny, Jnr., Mr. J. Jackson, Mr. M. Myers, Mr. J. Ducie and Mrs. J. Grainger.
Members of the GPO were present, four of whom acted as bearers....
