"Arthur Fritz Hebbe, 91, a lifelong resident of Pflugerville, passed away on June 19, 2000. He was born on June 29, 1908, to Ernst and Ida Weiss Hebbe.
He was preceded in death by his wife, mother of his two daughters, Ella Bohls Hebbe; his daughter, Cynthia Hebbe Wagner; sister, Alma Klattenhoff; brother Eugene Hebbe; and wife Edith Hebbe.
Mr. Hebbe was a retired farmer and carpenter. In 1999, he retired from the German-American Farm Mutual Insurance Company. He had been an appraiser for 45 years, a position which he took over from his father.
Mr. Hebbe was very active in his church, Immanuel Lutheran, attending brotherhood, serving on the church council, call committees as well as various other committees, serving as usher in services and attending Sunday School and Bible study.
Mr. Hebbe is survived by his daughter Janelle Hebbe of Austin; grandson, Noel Wagner and his wife, Sarah, of Pennsylvania; granddaughter, Holly Harwell and husband, Michael of Castroville; great-grandson, Cole Harwell; son-in-law, David Wagner and wife, Irma of San Antonio.
The family would like to thank caregivers Thelma Jordan, Irene Lopez and the Hospice Austin staff for their loving care.
Everyone who knew him will miss that sweet smile, gentle spirit, and wonderful, friendly personality who never met a stranger. As one of his nephews said, he was indeed a gentle giant of a man...." 3
