"Alice Mae Timmerman was born in Pflugerville, Texas May 4, 1919. She was the daughter of Selma Bohls and Herman Timmerman. Alice died December 31, 2009 at her residence, Westminster Manor, where she had lived for 10 years. Alice was baptized July 6, 1919 and confirmed her faith February 18, 1934 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pflugerville. Alice graduated from Pflugerville High School, went to Southwestern University and business school and spent her career in the Chemistry Department of the University of Texas working for Dr. Shive. Alice was the 6th of seven children and she devotedly cared for her mother and father for years, as well as her brother Lester. She grew up in the midst of a close extended family of cousins and Alice devoted her life to those special relationships. She was thoughtful and caring to her many friends, and always a generous and gracious hostess. She was unselfish in her reaching out and care for others. She served n a variety of leadership positions during her residence at Westminster. Alice loved to travel, and saw much of the United States, Canada and Europe. She was ever faithful as she lived out her Christian commitment as a member of First English Lutheran and joined Gethsemane Lutheran Church in 1964. Alice is survived by her sister, Julia Escott of Fort Worth, numerous nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends...." ("Austin American-Statesman," January 3, 2010) 2
