In 1851 Richard Oliver, aged 34, born in Wendron Cornwall, miner, and wife Elizth Oliver, aged 32, born in Wendron, housekeeper, were living in Tresevern, Stithians, Cornwall. With them were children Anthony (13) of Wendron, errand boy, James (11) of Wendron, miner, Elizth (9) of Wendron, William (7) of Stithians, Richd (5) of Stithians, and Catherine (4) of Stithians.

In 1861 Richard Oliver, aged 44, born in Wendron, copper miner, and wife Elizabeth Oliver, aged 43, born in Wendron, were living in Stithians. With them were children Elizabeth A (19) of Wendron, assistant, and born in Stithians: William (17), copper miner, Richard (15), copper miner, Catherine (14), dressmaker, Grace (10), scholar, Mary J. The Will with a codicil of Richard Oliver late of the parish of Wendron in the county of Cornwall, farmer, who died 27 October 1874 at Wendron, was proved 3 December at Bodmin by Thomas Johns of the parish of Stithians in the said county, stonemason, the nephew, one of the executors. Effects under £300. 2
