In 1841 Grace Greenwood, aged about 30, not born in the county, and husband Richard Greenwood, aged about 35, not born in the county, butler, were living in Marsh Bowden, Rockbeare, Devon. With them were children Mary (5), Emma (3), and Louisa (1).
In 1851 Grace Greenwood, aged 42, born in Falmouth Cornwall, lodging house keeper, and husband Richard Greenwood, aged 45, born in St. Columb Cornwall, waiter, were living in Eaton Place, St. Sidwell, Exeter, Devon. With them were children Mary Ann (14) of Falmouth, scholar, Emma (13) of Falmouth, scholar, Louisa (10) of Rockbeare Devon, scholar, and Ellen (8) of Exeter Devon, scholar.
The family emigrated to Cape Province in South Africa in or shortly after 1852.

* Grace's mother's name would appear to be incorrect. The only Grace Lardner born in Cornwall was the daughter of James and Grace. Her age is also understated by at least 12 months.

Grace married Richard Greenwood, son of Michael Greenwood and Bridget Nicholls, on 27 Aug 1835 in Falmouth, Cornwall. (Richard Greenwood was christened 15 Mar 1805 in St. Columb Major, Cornwall and died on 13 Jan 1868 in Cape Province, South Africa, aged 64 years.)
