Obituary:

Reba A. Foote Presher, 90, of Waverly, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.

She was born on Aug. 16, 1923, the daughter of Chester A. and Jean Caldwell Foote.

Reba grew up on a farm near Waverly. After her father's death, her mother married Jonathan Ritchie. Reba graduated from Waverly High School in 1939.

Reba married Gordon Presher in 1941 in Waverly. They were married for 55 years until Gordon's death in early 1997.

Reba was a member of Home Demonstration and an assistant 4-H leader of the Waverly Jr. Miss 4-H club for many years. She enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles. Both Reba and Gordon were active in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Waverly and the North Waverly Chapel. After Gordon's death, Reba attended Athens Presbyterian Church.

During World War II she worked at Ingersoll-Rand in Athens and later at Eclipse in Elmira. She worked part-time for the Western Auto Associate Store in Waverly for many years.

After her children graduated from high school, she went back to work at Ingersoll-Rand in Athens, until she retired in 1990.

Reba was preceded in death by her father, Chester Foote; mother, Jean Caldwell Foote Ritchie; stepfather, Jonathan Ritchie; brother, Chester Foote; husband, Gordon Presher, Sr; sister, Mary Ritchie Rose; brother, Frederick Foote; and brother, Donald Foote.

Reba is survived by her sister, Alice Foote Shelford of Dundee, N.Y.; her daughter, Jeanne Presher Davies of Round Rock, Texas; son, Gordon Presher, Jr. and wife Patricia of Fairport, N.Y.; daughter, Cheryl E. Cook and husband Ronald J. Cook of Horseheads, N.Y.; son, Allen Presher and wife Dorothy of Fairport, N.Y.; her grandchildren, Joy Bonspille-Bushey, Chaz D'Acquisto, Kirsten Presher Sollom, Carol Bash Frederick, Matthew Presher, Jennifer Bash, Katharine Presher Carlson, Brian Presher; her great-grandchildren, C.J. D'Acquisto, Joshua D'Acquisto, Matthew D'Acquisto, Marco Presher, Isaac Presher, Kaelyn Sollom, and Hunter Sollom; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She is also survived by two lifelong friends, Mary Kishbaugh Cole of Athens and Ross Mandeville of Waverly.... ¹
