In the 1851 Census, there are two individuals by the name of Mary A. Angove, both born in Illogan, one aged 12, daughter of Abel and Catherine, living in Illogan Downs, and the other aged 13, dressmaker, daughter of Abel and Mary A., living in Pendarves Fields, Camborne. However, in the 1861 Census, Mary Ann Angove, aged 20, daughter of Abel and Catherine, was living unmarried with her parents in Broad Lane, Illogan, and listed as sick, meaning that Mary Ann daughter of Abel Angove and Mary A. was the one who married Absalom Bawden.

In 1871, a Mary Bawden (31), widow, was living on Falmouth Road in Camborne working as a grocer. Visiting her was Stephen Rowe (56) of Redruth, gold miner.
