In 1871 Gwen Pugh (27) of Llanenddwyn and husband John Pugh (24) of Llanenddwyn, labourer, and daughter Margaret Pugh* (4 months), were with Gwen's widowed father in Llanenddwyn.

* Margaret was christened in Llanenddwyn on 22 Feb 1873 and buried on 12 March following, aged 2 years.

Son Owen Pugh was christened in Llanenddwyn on 23 Oct 1874 and buried there on 10 Jul 1875, aged 10 months.

Sons Watkin and Hugh were christened shortly after Owen, both on 29 Nov 1874 in Llanenddwyn. It is likely that Watkin 'Owen' who was with his grandfather Owen Owens in 1871, then aged 6 years, was Gwen's son born out of wedlock (probably) to John Pugh, noting that the GRO birth index lists the registration of the birth of Watkin Owen (but not Watkin Pugh) in 1874.
