At the time of the 1911 England Census Alice Whitehead, age 29, born in Battersea London (mother of 2 children), and husband of 8 years Thomas Whitehead, age 31, born in Chatton [Chatham] Kent, carman - mineral waters, were living at Ellingham Stables, Pickford Rd., Bexley Heath Kent. With them were sons (born in Erith Kent): Thomas (5) and Arthur (5 months).
In the 1939 Register Alice R Whitehead (b. 13 Dec 1881), widowed, unpaid domestic duties, was living at 69 West Street, Bexley, Kent. At the same address were [children, all single]: Arthur G (b. 5 Oct 1910), milk salesman, [one record closed], Lily (b. 1 Jul 1918), factory worker - coil winder, Roy (b. 6 Mar 1920), labourer for contractors.
