At the time of the 1901 England Census Thomas Sayers, age 21, born in Battersea, single, boiler washer, was living at 8 New Road, Lambeth London. With him were sister Emily Charlotte Taylor (26) of Brighton Sussex, married, brother-in-law Arthur Taylor (20) of Erith Kent, machine worker to tailor?, nieces Flora Harwood (8) of London Borough and Elsie Harwood (2) of Erith Kent.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Thomas Sayers, age 31, born in Battersea London, underground driver, and wife of 9 years Esther, age 32, born in Battersea (mother of 2 children) were living at 25 Townsend Street Old Kent Road, Southwark St. George the Martyr. With them were children (born in Clapham): Thomas (6) and Esther Emily (4).

In the 1939 Register Thomas Sayers (b. 21 Feb 1880), builder's labourer, and wife Esther (b. 5 Dec 1877*), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 14 Suffield Road, Kennington, London. At the same address was [son] Richard W Sayers (b. 13 Oct 1919), married, rotary machinist.

* Birth registration was recorded in the 1st Quarter of 1879 in the Wandsworth district.
