At the time of the 1891 England Census Charles Sayers, age 25, born in Brighton Sussex, furnace man (railway), and wife Elizabeth, age 23, born in London City, were living at 8 New Road Clapham London. With them was son Charles (1) of Clapham. Charles and his family were at the same address as Charles's mother Harriet and her husband William Sayers.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Charles Sayers, age 37, born in Brighton Sussex, railway forgeman, and wife Elizabeth, age 34, born in Middx, were living in Lambeth London. With them were children (born in Lambeth): Charles (11), Elizabeth (9), Frederick (7), William (5), Alice (1).

At the time of the 1911 England Census Charles Sayers, age 45, born in Brighton Sussex, hammerman [in] smith's shop, and wife of 21 years Elizabeth, age 43, born in London City (mother of 9 children, 2 deceased), were living at 2 Brooklands Street Wandsworth. With them were children (born in Lambeth): Charles (21), hammerman [in] smith's shop, Elizabeth (19), fancy box maker, Frederick (17), butcher, William (15), chemist shop boy, Annie (9), Thomas (7), and Emily (9 months).
