3rd Earl of Northumberland, 6th Lord Percy, King's knight, Warden of the East Marches & Captain of Berwick, 1439, 1442-52, Warden & Commissary-General of the East Marches, 1457, Warden & Chief Justice in Eyre of the Royal Forests north of Trent, 1459, Constable of Scarborough Castle, 1459, son and heir....

In consequence of his marriage, he was summoned to Parliament from 14 Dec. 1446 to 26 May 1455, by writs directed Henrico de Percy, chivaler, domino de Ponynges....

Henry...took part in the Battle of Wakefield 30 Dec. 1460, and was slain fighting for the king at the Battle of Towton 29 March 1461... 2

Ratification of letters patent dated 3 July, 21 HenryVI, in favour of Richard Neville, earl of Salisbury, and grant to him in tail male of 100s. yearly by the hands of the prior and convent of St. Mary, Carlisle, from the farm of 55 acres of land in the lawn of Elreton ; of 100s. [rectius 106s.] 3d. yearly by the hands of Richard Kirkebryde,which he and his heirs are bound to render for the farm of the lawn of Brathwayte with the covert of Midelscogh ; of the lawn of Plompton, co. Cumberland, enclosed of late by the earl at great costs, worth before the enclosure £22 a year, to hold to that value of 100s. of the £30 19s. 1d. and the 10 marks, which Henry Percy, knight, lord of Ponynges, is bound to render yearly for the farm of all the burgages, tenements, mills, lands, rents and farms, inhabited and waste, within Berwick upon Tweed and of a parcel of land called ' Mawedelyn feld ' and the toll called ' halpenytoll ' and the customs of ships, to wit, segeage, mesurage, bollage and customs of other merchandise of ships entering there and stallage of market and customs of barrels of salmon there, of the keeping of a parcel of the king's demesne land and pasture by Carlisle and of the closes of Itonfeld and Barrokfeld with Brumegill within Inglewod forest, co. Cumberland, of the keeping of two parts of the lordships or manors of Kneton and Midelton,co. York, and of the keeping of a messuage called ' le Quene Warderobe ' in London by Aldrichgate in the parish of St. Anne,with 12 tenements adjacent thereto, which keeping by letters patent dated 23 July, 29 Henry VI, the king committed to the said Henry from Easter then last for twenty- four years at a rent of £30 19s. 1d. and 10 marks of increment,the said earl to have the said 100s. from Michaelmas, 29 HenryVI ; of the said closes of Itonfeld and Barrokfeld with Brumegill, extended at 100s. yearly, to hold to that value ; of the closes called Morton, Hesketz, Wollaykes, Nuncios and Blaberythwayte within the said forest, to hold to their value of £15 6s. 8d. a year; and of £14.yearly from other issues of the forests beyond Trent by the hands of the warden ; to hold the premises from Michaelmas, 29 Henry VI, in the name of his fee for the office of warden of the said forests and in satisfaction of 100 marks yearly wont to be paid to the said warden....
