Dametta de Gorram
- Born: Abt 1145, Great Berwick near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England
- Married:
- Died: 1204
Research Notes:
Who was the original Feoffee [of Chetton in Shropshire] we know not, but it was one who also had a grant of Great Berwick (near Shrewsbury), from the Crown, and of Eudon (afterwards Eudon Burnell), from the antecessors of Fitz Alan. It is...certain that before King Henry II had reigned twelve years the whole fief had lapsed to a sole heiress, whose Christian name was Damietta. She was ere that time (1166) married to Ranulf de Broc, a Royal favorite, whose notoriety, though great, is little associated with Shropshire.
Damietta survived [her husband], her inheritance in Shropshire... suffered no partitition till her own death in 1204. 1
Marriage Information:
Dametta married Ranulf de Broc, son of Oyn Porcell. (Ranulf de Broc was born about 1140 in Angmering, East Preston, Sussex, England and died about 1187 in Artington, Guildford, Surrey, England.)
