The Annales Rodenses record the death “XVII Kal Jan” of “Adelbertus comes de Saphenberch” and “II Non Dec...apud Hollendin ultra Renum, ubi propria eius sedes erat ex priore...marito” (which confirms her first marriage) of “Mathildis...conjunx illius”, as well as her burial “juxta apud Wettrech in monasterio sanctimonialium”. 1

Mathilde married Gf. Adalbert I VON SAFFENBERG, son of Hermann II VON NÖRVENICH, Graf von Saffenberg and Gepa, in 1075. (Adalbert I VON SAFFENBERG died on 16 December, between 1109 and 1112.)
