Canon of Sarum. A writ dated 27 Dec "46 Hen III", after the death of "Richard Lunespeye" records his inheritance of "Brumleghe manor [Surrey]…" from his wife. 1

Writ to the sheriff of of Sussex and Surrey, 27 Dec. 46 Hen. III. [1261]. Inq. (undated).
Surrey. Brumleghe manor was held of the king in chief by John de Fay by service of 3 knights' fees, after whose death it was parted between his two sisters Maud and Philippa, and from the said Maud issued a daughter Agatha, and from her Alice, who was the wife of the said Richard (and still survives); and the said Richard and Alice held a moiety of the manor in chief of the king by service of 1½ knights' fee.

(Alice LE RUS was born on 25 Dec 1245 in Stinton in Sall, Aylsham, Norfolk, England and died before 28 Jan 1300/1 in Ludborough, Louth, Lincolnshire, England.)
