Cellach Cualann mac Gerthide Uí Máil, rí Laigin
Research Notes:
He was the eponymous ancestor of the Uí Ceallaig Cuallan, the O'Kelly's of the Dublin/Wicklow border in the foothills of the Wicklow mountains.
He fought a battle against Fogartach Ua Cearnaigh, who was afterwards King of Ireland, in 702 in Claen Ath. He defeated in battle, wherein were slain two of his sons, Fiachra and Fianamhail, and some of the Britons who had joined his army, in 707 in the Battle of Selgge, Fortuatha Laighean, Ireland.
