At the time of the 1851 England Census Jesse Jefferies, aged 58, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, ag. labourer, and wife Mary, aged 63, born in Liddiard Tregooze Wilts, were living in High Street, Wootton Bassett Wilts. With them were daughter Elizabeth Jefferies (28) of Wootton Bassett, unmarried, and granddaughter Elizabeth Jefferies (10) of Wootton Bassett.
