At the time of the 1871 England Census Eliza Dearing, aged 20, born in Hellingly Sussex, was with her parents in Upper Dicker, Hellingly.
At the time of the 1881 England Census Eliza Fox, aged 30, born in Hellingly Sussex, and husband George Fox, aged 39, born in Arlington Sussex, blacksmith, were living in Fairwarp, Maresfield Sussex. Present were children Alice (12) of Willington Sussex, scholar, and George (3) of Reigate Surrey.
At the time of the 1891 England Census Eliza Fox, aged 40, born in Henllingly [sic] Sussex, and husband George Fox, aged 49, born in Arlington Sussex, blacksmith, were living in Chart Cottages, Sussex Rd., Cuckfield Sussex. With them were children George (13) of Reigate Surrey, blacksmith's assistant, and born in Wivelsfield Sussex: John (7), Arthur (5), Edward (3), and Percy (1).
At the time of the 1901 England Census Eliza Fox, aged 50, born in Hellingly Sussex, and husband George Benjamin Fox, aged 59, born in Arlington Sussex, blacksmith, were living in Lindfield Common Sussex. With them were children Edward (13) of Wivelsfield, Purcy (11) of Wivelsfield, and Emily (4) of Lindfield.
At the time of the 1911 England Census Eliza Fox, aged 60, born in Hellingly Sussex (mother of 6 children), and husband of 35 years George Fox, aged 69, born in Arlington Sussex, blacksmith, were living in Lindfield Common Sussex. With them were children: Edward Ernest (23) of Wivelsfield, fruiter's carman, Percy Charles (21) of Wivelsfield, journeyman butcher, Emily May (14) of Lindfield, laundry packer / sorter, and nurse-child Ronald Cable (3) of Loudon Sussex.

DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MRS. FOX.—A well known resident of the village, Mrs. Eliza Fox, of Gravelye Lane, died on Thursday at the age of 84. She had been ill for about a fortnight. The widow of Mr. Benjamin Fox, at one time a blacksmith at Haywards Heath, deceased had lived locally for over 40 years. She leaves four sons and a daughter. The funeral took place at Walstead Cemetery yesterday (Monday) afternoon, the Rev. BENJAMIN WRIGHT officiating. The chief mourners were Mr. George Fox, Mr. Edward Fox and Mr. Percy Fox (sons), Mr. and Mrs. M. Garvey (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. D. Cable (adopted son) and Mrs. Cable, Mr. A. Fox and Mr. N. Fox (grandsons) and Mrs. J. Fox (granddaughter). Another son (Mr. J. Fox) was unable to attend....
