In 1698 Thomas Durrant son of Thomas Durrant of Heathfield, yeoman, was the sole executor of the Will of his uncle John Tisehurst of Heathfield.

Abstract of the Will of Thomas Durrant of Heathfield in the County of Sussex, Yeoman, written 8 Feb 1734/5, proved 16 Jul 1735. 4
Gives & devises his copyhold tenement, barn buildings and lands in Sapperton Heathfield to his son Edward Durrant of Heathfield, husbandman, in trust, and conditional that an annuity of £6 be paid out of the annual rent to his wife Ann for the term of her natural life, the overplus of the annual income being equally divided between his three sons William Durrant, Joseph Durrant and the said Edward Durrant.
Wills that after the death of his wife the said lands are to be valued and sold, and from the proceeds gives £12 to his son John Durrant of East Hoathly, farrier, and £4 each to John's children Robert Durrant and Sarah Durrant.
Gives and bequeaths to his said wife the use of the bed and its furniture which belonged to her before their marriage, along with four pair of the best sheets.
All the rest of his household goods, wearing apparel, ready money, stock &c. he gives to his son Edward Durrant, appointing him sole executor of his will.
