In 1721 John Deering was made residuary legatee and sole executor of the Will of his father-in-law John Mepham of Heathfield, yeoman. John Dearing died within the lifetime of John Mepham.

Gives & bequeaths to his wife Dorothy his copyhold tenements, barn on two pieces of land called Stuckles in Heathfield for the term of her natural life. After her decease he wills the same to his youngest son George.
Gives & bequeaths 5 shillings to his brother Henry Dearing.
Gives & bequeaths £15 to his son Henry Dearing, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-one.
All the rest of his personal estate he gives & bequeaths to his six children John, Christopher, Henry, Elizabeth, Anne and Mary, share and share alike.
Appoints his wife Dorothy executrix of his last will and testament, and nominates as executors in trust his brother Henry Dearing of Heathfield, and his nephew Christopher Dearing of Mayfield, yeoman.
