At the time of the 1901 England Census Hannah Lithgow, aged 53, born in Brighton Sussex, and husband James Lithgow, aged 57, born in Midhurst Sussex, baker, were living at 9 Amyard Cottages, Twickenham Middlesex. With them were children (born in Brighton Sussex): Lydia (17), dressmaker (own account), Esther (16), Mary (13), Benjamin (11), Samuel (3).

In the 1939 Register Hannah Lithgow (b. 10 Jun 1846), widow, retired, was living at 140 Lower Mortlake Road, Richmond Upon Thames, Surrey. With her were [daughters] Sylvia [i.e. Lydia] R Lithgow (b. 13 Nov 1883), single, grocery assistant, and Mary M Lithgow (b. 6 Dec 1888), single, paid housekeeper.
