At the time of the 1851 England Census Ruth Jarvis, aged 31, born in Waldron Sussex, and husband Thomas Jarvis, aged 34, born in Waldron, carpenter, were living in Pooks, Waldron. With them was daughter Mary Ann (10 m) of Waldron. Ruth parents and siblings were living nextdoor in Pooks.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Ruth Jarvis, aged 42, born in Waldron Sussex, widow, needlewoman, was living in Common Cottage, Framfield Sussex. With her were children (born in Waldron): Mary A (10), scholar, and Thomas H (9), scholar.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Ruth Jarvis, aged 51, born in Waldron Sussex, widow, annuitant, seamstress, was living in Framfield Sussex.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Ruth Midmore, aged 61, born in Waldron Sussex, and [2nd] husband James Midmore, aged 56, born in Rotherfield Sussex, master shoemaker employing 2 men, were living in Hurstwood, Shoemaker's shop, Buxted Sussex. Present were James's children Esther (23), Hannah (14), scholar, and Benjamin (12), scholar.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Ruth Midmore, aged 71, born in Waldron Sussex, and husband James Midmore, aged 66, born in Rotherfield Sussex, bootmaker, were living in Stone Cottage, Buxted Sussex. With them was James's son Benjamin (22) of Buxted, bootmaker's assistant.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Ruth Midmore, aged 81, born in Waldron Sussex, widow, was with her stepson Benjamin Midmore and his wife Emma in Hurstwood, Buxted Sussex.
