In Oct 1825 Henry Tidy and his wife Ann Tidy were present at the marriage of Ann's sister Elizabeth Akhurst to George Spittle in Borden Kent.

At the time of the 1841 England Census Henry Tidy, aged about 50, not born in the county, carpenter, and wife Ann Tidy, aged about 45, born in the county, were living in High St., Sittingbourne Kent. With them were children Henry (20), painter, and Mary A (18).

At the time of the 1851 England Census Henry Tidy, age 62, born in Ifield Sussex, widower, inn keeper & builder, was living in Lion Inn, Sittingbourne Kent. With him was son Henry Thos. (30) of Borden Kent, master painter employing 1 app[rentice].

At the time of the 1861 England Census Henry Tidy, age 75, born in Ifield Sussex, widower, master carpenter, was with his son Henry Thomas Tidy and his family in High Street, Sittingbourne Kent.
