In Oct 1847 Caroline Akhurst was present at the marriage of her sister Jane Akhurst to William Black in Boxley Kent.

At the time of the 1851 England Census Caroline Akhurst, age 31, born in Bredgar Kent, unmarried, was with her brother George Akhurst, farmer, in Dunn St. Farm, Boxley Kent.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Caroline Johnson, age 42, born in Bredgar Kent, and husband Thomas Johnson, age 44, born in Newington Kent, publican, were living in The Harrow, Lidsing Kent. With them were children: Charles (10) of Boxley, scholar, Henry (8) of Lidsing, scholar, Thomas (6) of Lidsing, scholar, and Mary Elizth. (2) of Lidsing.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Caroline Johnson, age 62, born in Bredgar Kent, widow, late inn keeper, was living in Lidsing Cottage, Boxley Kent. With her was son Thomas (26) of Lidsin, unmarried, wood dealer.
