Ferdinando was the son of Abraham Jackson who was buried in Croydon Surrey on 13 Dec 1732. The name of Ferdinando’s mother is not known. He had five siblings, namely Thomas (b. 1668), Elizabeth (b. 1672), Mary (b. 1674), Hannah (b. 1677) and Sarah (b. 1685).
By 1702 Ferdinando had moved from Croydon to Sussex and married in 1702 in Ardingly (just shy of 30 miles directly south of Croydon). After his marriage Ferdinando spent the first several years living in West Hoathly (about 3 miles north-east of Ardingly) where his eldest two children were born. Thereafter the family appears to have settled in Ardingly.

--------------------------
Ferdinando Jackson died aged 85 years (burial record).
Ferdinando's age shown in the burial record is probably approximate, especially since the final digit in the register has been overwritten as though the informant was unsure. The evidence indicates that Ferdinando Jackson was christened on 13 Feb 1670 in Croydon Surrey son of Abraham Jackson. In his will (see below) Ferdinando makes a bequest to Abraham Jackson of Croydon, his brother's son. Ferdinando's brother Thomas had a son Abraham.
