Cte Waléran I D' ARLON
- Married:
- Died: Before 1032
Orthographic variation: Walram
Research Notes:
Comte d'Arlon. Eberhard Archbishop of Trier refers to past donations by "comite Walrammo de Arlo et uxore ipsius Adelheide" in two charters dated 1052 and 1053, the second one referring to the confirmation of donations by "filiorum eorum Walrammi et Folconis" after the death of their parents, which appears to pull all the information together. The primary source which confirms that Waléran died before 1032 has not been identified: presumably it relates to a charter recording his widow’s donation to Trier (noted in the Gesta Treverorum...) which has not been identified. 1
Marriage Information:
Waléran married Adelais DE LORRAINE, daughter of Duc Thierry I DE HAUTE-LORRAINE and Richilde VON BLIESGAU. (Adelais DE LORRAINE was born in Lorraine, Moselle, France and died after 1032.)
