BALCOMBE.

DEATH OF MR. G. GREENFIELD, JUN.—Much sympathy was evoked here by the intelligence of the death of Mr. George Greenfield, Jun., eldest son of Mr. G. Greenfield, who for many years occupied a responsible position on the Balcombe Place estate, and who is now resident at West Tarring, Worthing. Mr. Greenfield, Jun., died at Easebourne, Midhurst, on Wednesday last, within a few days of completing his 46th year. He had enjoyed the esteem of his fellow villagers in no small degree, and this was strikingly manifest at the funeral at Easebourne Church on Saturday, when the sacred edifice contained a crowded gathering. Among those present was the Earl of Egmont (on whose estate, Cowdray Park, deceased had been foreman of works for several years), and members of the Cowdray Park Cricket Club and the Village Institute Slate Club, for both of which Mr. Greenfield had held office of Secretary.
