  Research Notes:

At the time of the 1881 England Census Jane Rummery (19) of Kilndown Kent, general domestic servant, was with her aunt and uncle Frances and Joseph Baker in Bakers Cottage, Frant Sussex.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Mildred J Weekes, age 29, born in Calmdown [Kilndown], and husband Thomas Weekes, age 29, born in Frant Sussex, butcher, were living at 22 Mount Sion, Tunbridge Kent. With them were children (born in Tunbridge Wells): Thos. J. (5) and Edith (1), and mother-in-law Frances Baker* (65) of Burwash Sussex, widow.

At the time of the 1901 England Census Mildred Weekes, age 39, born in Robertsbridge Sussex, and husband Thomas Weekes, age 39, born in Frant Sussex, butcher, were living at 34 Mt. Sion, Tunbridge Wells Kent. Present were children (born in Tunbridge Wells): Thomas (14), Arthur (4), and Edith (11).

At the time of the 1911 England Census Jane Weekes, age 48, born in Caln Down Kent (mother of 2* children), and husband of 24 years Thomas Weekes, age 48, born in Frant Sussex, farmer, were living at 34 Mount Sion, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. With them were children Edie (21), single, and Arthur (14).

* It is curious that Thomas and [Mildred] Jane indicated that they had only two children. The eldest Thomas is not numbered in this Census, and yet he lived until 1944.

FARMER BEREAVED. — Mr. Thomas Weekes, of Pelling Farm, has been bereaved by the death of his wife, whose remains were interred at the Cemetery on Wednesday.
