"Willelmus Amanei, Bernardi fratris eius" subscribed charters of Grande-Sauve dated to [1079/89]. Although Bernard and Guillaume Amanieu are shown to be brothers by this charter, no primary source has been found which confirms that they were the sons of Amanieu [II] except for the patronymic attributed to Guillaume Amanieu.
Vicomte de Bezaume. Comte de Benauges. "Guillelmus Amanei de Benavias et uxor eius Amalvina" donated two serfs to Grande-Sauve for "filio suo Guillelmo Amanei" who was on crusade, by charter dated to [1097]. 1
