"Gozfridus de novo castello" donated property to Montiérender by charter dated [1061/62 or before] in which he names "pater suus Stephanus". The Chronicle of Alberic de Trois-Fontaines names "Gaufridum" as son of "Stephano…de Vallibus", specifying that he was "comes Ioviniaci et secundus dominus Ioneville".
