Her parentage is confirmed by the charter dated May 1112 under which Queen Urraca granted "villa…Coruellos, territorio Legionensi, inter duo flumina, Turio et Porma…extra hereditates que fuerunt de Aluaro Citiz", adding that the property "fuit de vestro avo commite Munnio Munniz", to "Tellus Telliz et Fernandus Telliz". The chronology of the family suggests that conde Munio Muñoz was a more remote ancestor of Tello Téllez and Fernando Téllez than "avo", maybe their great-grandfather. If that is correct, the wife of Tello was presumably either Velasquita or Mayor... 1
An undated charter at Corias, which records the foundation of “monasterium Sancti Micaeli de Legione”, names “Velasquida Moniz et Maiori Moniz” as the two daughters of “Xemena Moniz” and “Munionis Roderici comitis”. A charter at Corias names “duabus filiabus…Velasquide Moniz, Maiori Moniz…filie Munionis Roderici comitis” as the children of “Xemena Moniz” daughter of “Munio Munionis comes, filius comitis Munionis Roderici cognomento Canis”. 2
