Thegan's Vita Hludowici Imperatoris names the wife of Emperor Louis "filiam nobilissimi ducis Ingorammi…Irmingarda". 
  The Gesta Francorum records the death "818 V Non Oct" of "Irmingardis regina". The Vita Hludowici Imperatoris records the death "V Non Oct" of "Hirmingardis regina" three days after falling ill. 1

  Ermengarde married Louis I "Le Pieux" Caroling, Holy Roman Emperor, son of Charles I Caroling, King of the Franks, and Hildegarde Udalrichinger of the Allemanni, in 794 in France.  (Louis I "Le Pieux" Caroling was born on 16 Apr 778 in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, Vienne, Isère, France, died on 20 Jun 840 in Petersaue, an Island in The Rhine near Ingelheim, Germany and was buried in église abbatiale de Saint-Arnoul, Metz, Austrasia.)
