  Research Notes:

Her parentage and marriage are confirmed by a charter dated 1213 under which Guillaume du Hommet granted to Roger de Saint-Lo “the chapel of Sainte Catherine, in the parish of Le Desert” including rent which “Guillelmus de Humeto constabularius avus meus” had donated before he married his daughter to “Ricardo” (“antequam filiam suam maritasset Ricardo”). Assuming that the information recorded in this charter is factually correct..., this person must have been Richard’s first wife as she would have been the mother of his oldest son. Another document confuses the issue: by undated charter “Richard du Hommet, Constable of King Henry [Henry II], grandson of William du Hommet abovenamed” donated tithes from mills to Saint-Fromond by undated charter. Richard would have been the son-in-law not grandson of Guillaume [I] du Hommet assuming that the information included in the 1213 document is correct, although “grandson” in Stapleton’s translated summary of the undated charter presumably represents his translation (maybe incorrect?) of the Latin term. 1

  Marriage Information:

Unnamed daughter married Sn Richard DU HOMMET, Connétable de Normandie, son of Sn Robert DU HOMMET. (Richard DU HOMMET died on 20 Feb 1180/1.)
