  • Died: 1174

  Research Notes:

His parentage is confirmed by the Annales Cambriæ which name his son "Lewelinus filius Gervasii filii Owini Guynet…princeps Walliæ".

He succeeded his father in 1170 as IORWERTH Prince of Gwynedd. 1

In the partition of his father's territories he received Arfon and probably Nanconwy. Shortly afterwards he disappears from view, probably dying about the time of the usurpation of power in Upper Gwynedd by his half-brother, David I, in 1174. 2

Iorwerth married Marared ferch Madog of Powys, daughter of Madog ap Maredydd and Susanna ferch Gruffydd.
