Ingoberge, Queen of Paris 1
- Born: Abt 520, Paris, Île-de-France, France
- Died: 589, Tours, Indre Et Loire, France
General Notes:
44 x great-grandmother
Research Notes:
Gregory of Tours names Ingoberg as the wife of King Charibert, but records that he dismissed her and took Merofled in her place. Herimannus records the repudiation by "Hariberti" of his wife "Ingoberga". She retired to Tours after her repudiation.
Gregory of Tours records the death of Queen Ingoberg, widow of Charibert, in the fourteenth year of King Childebert's reign, saying he thought that she was in her 70th year, although this age seems exaggerated considering the likely birth date of her daughter. 2
Marriage Information:
Ingoberge married Charibert I Meroving, King of Paris, son of Chlothachar I "le Vieux" Meroving, King of the Franks in Soissons and Ingonde. (Charibert I Meroving was born about 517 in Rheims, Marne, France and died on 7 May 567 in Braines, France.)
